Concerned teachers and parents are attending a meeting at Broward College in Davie Wednesday afternoon to talk about improving education in Florida.
The state's education commissioner is holding a public hearing to continue getting input on Common Core Standards.
Demonstrators will also be there, to send a message to Governor Rick Scott that he should be sticking with the national standards for education.
Former state senator Dan Gelber says Scott is trying to appease Tea Party activists who think Common Core is a federal takeover.
Common Core standard implementation had already begun across Florida.
But, now, that's all on hold after the state education board voted to abandon the standards in the wake of controversy over a common assessment test.
