Doctors Warn Of Importance Of Childhood Vaccines

Many vaccine-preventable childhood diseases are still circulating in the United States or are only a plane ride away.

That's the message from the Centers for Disease Control to encourage parents to keep their babies and children on track with recommended immunization schedule.

Three hundred American children die each year from vaccine-preventable diseases, and 14 million cases of disease could be prevented and 33,000 lives saved for each child that abides by the schedule.

National Infant Immunization week takes place April 26th through May 3rd, and it is meant to serve as a reminder to all parents of the importance of keeping their children healthy and on the recommend vaccine schedule to help provide them with protection against numerous diseases.
