They may be late in the game, but Taxi Cabs in Miami-Dade County will finally be getting a technological upgrade.
Commissioners approving new measures to install digital security cameras, credit card machines, Sunpasses, and G-P-S over the next two years.
The Sunpasses need to be installed over the next six months.
Cab drivers are worried the cost for installing the new tech will be taken out of their pockets.
Other issues being discussed include upping taxi-meter rates and possibly adding a technology surcharge for passengers.
One of the more contentious issues removed from the docket included an overwhelming de-regulation of the car-service industry.
