Wounded Vets Join Fight To Protect Kids Online

There's a new war against sexual predators.

And, our very own veteran soldiers are on the front lines.

The Human Exploitation Rescue Operative Corps or H.E.R.O Corps is a public-private partnership with federal officials and the military.

The wounded Special Operations veterans are trained in high-tech computer forensics and law enforcement skills to assist federal agents in the fight against online child sexual exploitation.

South Florida Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is the original sponsor of the funds for the program.

Wasserman Schultz is announcing the hiring of the first graduating class in Florida Monday in Miami-Dade County.

She says these are veterans who have incredible skills and will now be trained to use them to fight online child sexual exploitation right here in Florida.

The congresswoman reports she has also recently secured another one-million dollars in funding to facilitate the participation of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task force in the H.E.R.O. Corps.
